CONCLUSIONS
- Great progress Progress have been made after the concept of Intelligent Building was established 1982 by AT&T
- (de facto) standardization efforts are now seeding development
- we must creatively design, implement and try out new services provided in the buildings and its environments
- IBI system integration with other infrastructure services needed
- Prepare for wireless connection of sensors and actuators, and intranet connections
- good user interface design and intelligent building transparancy is of crucial importance.
- R&D needs on powerful Virtual Buildning, VB, models including Intelligent Building, IBI, design and simulation tools.
- Need for 'Integrator' competence and participation in design team
- education materials for laboratory set-up needed
